My experience with Analytical Reading lessons was very helpful in gaining understanding and comprehension of the Bible and Science and Health. My coach is a thoughtful and patient instructor and led my improvement in reading, both silent and verbally. The information and practice transferred into all of my reading and also my writing.

When I was elected Second Reader this year I was encouraged to try out a few Analytical Reading lessons.  I was skeptical, not because I didn’t think lessons would be helpful, but because I didn’t think I would be very good at learning reading skills.  But I soon found out how wrong I was! 

My coach was patient, clear, and kept things simple enough for me to grasp the ideas of reading distinctly and meaningfully.  I am learning how to stress certain words to bring out meaning, make connections within Bible verses as well as between citations, and helpful ways to read tough passages. 

After a few weeks, I have gained confidence to read publicly in my branch church and fear of speaking and reading aloud has vanished.  I have begun giving more testimonies on Wednesday evenings and speaking more at business meetings, two things I have been shy about doing. 

I don’t think it would be too much to say that the reading lessons have helped pave the way for me to turn a corner in church participation.  And, I have received many encouraging and complimentary comments from several church members. 

I am grateful for this education as I know it is not only helping me but is bringing healing to listeners on Sunday as the deeper meanings of the Bible are brought out.  Also, I can’t neglect to say that my individual study of the weekly Bible Lessons has improved with an increased awareness of meaning and connection.
